About the Netherlands Antilles

The Netherlands Antilles is an autonomous part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands comprised of five islands: Bonaire, Curacao, Saba, St. Eustatius and St. Maarten (Dutch side).  The official language on the islands is Dutch, however English is widely used also.  The Netherlands Antilles is well known for being a divers' paradise with stories of shipwrecks and hidden treasures from the days when pirates roamed the Caribbean.  Bonaire is known for its pioneering role in the preservation of nature, especially the marine environment and the tiny island of St. Eustatius (Statia) is an ecotourist delight.  Curacao is well known for its bustling historic capital city of Willemstad with its European architecture and rich cultural heritage.  St. Maarten shares an island with St. Martin the French side so here you can experience two distinct cultures on one island.

Netherlands Antilles vacation rentals include private villas, beachfront homes, cottages and condos and apartments.  Bonaire has homes and apartments for rent that are conveniently close to both the beach and town.  There are many villas to rent in Saint Maarten.  Some of them have private pools and spectacular ocean views and many are fully staffed and offer all inclusive vacations. Try renting from an owner and you will find that many amenities and services are included and for family reunions, weddings or corporate getaways, vacation rentals in the Netherlands Antilles offer a more more affordable holiday than staying in a hotel.
