Nahiku is one of the wettest spots along the north coast of east
Maui so is always lush and beautiful. In 1900, Nahiku was the
site of the Nahiku Rubber Company, however in 1912 it went out of
business because the heavy rains yielded poor quality latex.
Rubber trees still line the road as a reminder of the failed
venture. Nahiku vacation rentals include suites, cottages,
vacation homes and bed and breakfast inns all by owner.
