In 1993 we owned a vacation rental in Maui and we learned very quickly, after spending hundreds of dollars on newspaper advertising,  that the most efficient way to advertise our vacation rental was over the internet.  We found out that it was wise to list our rental with more than one vacation rental site, so that our exposure was optimized.  In 1999 we decided to launch our own site, with listings of vacation rentals by owner worldwide.  Hence Ideal Vacation Rentals was born.  Our idea was to create is a user friendly, easy to navigate site and to keep it reasonably small so that your listing is not lost among countless others.
