About Ixtapa

Ixtapa, once a coconut plantation,  is a beach resort city in the state of Guerrero on the Pacific coast of Mexico. 

Ixtapa is comprised of high rise, high end hotels, many of these having condos which are privately owned and rented out by the owners.  If you rent from an owner in Ixtapa, not only will you be able to use the full resort amenities but owners will usually provides extras that you will not find in a hotel. 

Also in Ixtapa you will find golf courses, a modern marina, as well as stylish restaurants, bars and nighclubs that go hand in hand with a trendy resort.

Water sports dominate the activity scene in Ixtapa and there is also an aquatic park with water slides, rides and fast foods as well as separate facilities where you can swim with the dolphins.

A great advantage is that Ixtapa is close to Zihuatanejo, a little bit smaller and quieter resort which has retained some of the charm it had as a former sleepy fishing village.  The two resorts compliment each other and because they are so close vacationers are able to have a lot of different options for every taste.
