Why Choose Maui Vacation Rentals?

Named for the trickster demigod of Polynesian lore, Maui defers only to Oahu in visitor popularity and economic vigor. Over the last number of years many visitors to Maui  now prefer staying in vacation rentals by owner rather than hotels.  Choose from condos, vacation cottages, ocean view homes, beach homes and townhouses and Maui vacation home rentals all by owner.

From the historic whaling town of Lahaina in West Maui, to the Kaanapali coast with is miles of beautiful beaches and world famous golf courses, to the sun-drenched 10 miles stretch of Kihei in South Maui, or a drive along the winding road to Hana through tropical rainforests, waterfalls and spectacular scenery, the Hawaiian island of Maui, is a treasure, waiting for you to explore, when you stay in a Maui vacation home.

Maui, also known as the "Valley Isle" is the second largest island in the Hawaiian chain.  At 727 square miles, Maui has the largest number of swimmable beaches in Hawaii.  The local population of Maui is approx. 118,000 while the average temperature is 71 degrees F. in January and February with highs of 80 degrees, and 78 degrees F. in August and September with highs of 84 degrees F.  This ideal climate makes Maui vacation rentals a very popular form of accommodation for your Hawaii holiday.  Rainfall varies drastically throughout the island and it is common to have a tropical storm one minute followed by beautiful sunshine and rainbows the next.  You can sun yourself in Lahaina with only 15 in. of rainfall annually or go down the road to Puu Kukui (only 7 miles away) and get drenched to the tune of 375 in. annually.

Maui is one of Polynesia's principal "high islands", dominated by the massive shoulders of 10,023 foot Haleakala, and mile-high Puu Kukui, "candlenut mountain", volcanoes.  On Maui, "Upcountry" means Pukalani, Makawao (cowboy country) and Kula towns, and the lower slopes of Haleakala.  The cooler temperatures of these altitudes are excellent for growing protea flowers and vegetables.  If you like to get away from it all upcountry rental properties are worth considering.

The quaint old whaling town of Lahaina, West Maui with its boutiques and restaurants still retains many historic sites remaining from the missionary influence of the 1800s, and the Whaler's Village has a great whaling museum for those who love history.  Maui vacation homes in Lahaina include condo rentals in the historic Lahaina Shores hotel.  This is a very attractive place to stay because you can walk to all the great Lahaina shops, galleries, craft fairs, pubs and restaurants.

One of the major resort areas of Maui is the Kaanapali Coast with many luxury hotels, beautiful beach homes, condos,  and world class golf courses including the championship Royal Kaanapali. Kapalua, further north just past Napili Bay is another major resort destinations, also with many Kaanapali vacation rentals and beach homes.

A sun-drenched ten-mile stretch of Maui's south coast, Kihei, boasts many hotels and Kihei Maui vacation rentals including condos, Hawaii beach homes, cottages and villas.

Hana is a day adventure as you drive the winding highway starting at the charming old Hawaiian village of Paia and the pretty town of Haiku.  The North Shore of Maui is a world famous destination for surfing and wind surfing at Ho'okipa Beach near Haiku.

On the journey to Hana you will cross 54 one lane bridges as you make your way  through tropical rain forests, waterfalls, ferns, guava, breadfruit and spectacular scenery.

Beyond Hana are the famous Seven Pools of Kipahulu also known as the "Seven Sacred Pools".  Vacation rentals in Hana include cottages nestled in a flower plantation, condos, and vacation homes with fabulous ocean views including Hawaii beach homes.

Residents of Maui have a favourite saying about their beloved isle "Maui No Ka Oi" which means Maui is the Best!
