Haena is located on the north
shore of Kauai just north of Hanalei. The famous Tunnels Beach
make this a natural destination for summer snorkeling or winter
surfing. Ha'ena State Park, renowned for its
fabulous views of Kauai's rugged coastline is located outside Haena
at the end of Highway 56. Here ancient sea caves dot the
landscape and the 17 km Kalalau Trail starts here, making it the
gateway to hiking the Na Pali Coast. At the foot of the Na
Pali Coast trail lies popular Kee Beach, where you will find shaded
parking, public washrooms, showers and picnic facilities. Also
the natural reef protection makes it an ideal swimming beach.
For great restaurants cafes and small shops, the towns of Hanalei
and Princeville are not far away.
