Somerset Holiday Cottages - Clanville Manor Tallet

The Tallet (an old Somerset word for a hayloft), is on our farm, adjacent to the Georgian farmhouse Bed and Breakfast. It was converted in 1995 from a bake house and hayloft, to a holiday home. We have been careful to preserve many original features including flagstone flooring, a stone staircase, the original oven door and an inglenook fireplace in which there is now a wood burner.

The back door opens onto a stone terrace, and the walled garden, where you can while away the hours in fine weather. If the weather is inclement, then curl up in front of the fire with a book, challenge someone to one of the board games from the cupboard, or watch your favourite video.

The kitchen has a full sized oven, a microwave, dishwasher, and freezer. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available. Relaxation is guaranteed! Feed the hens, help collect eggs, enjoy the outdoor pool in the Summer or take river walks.

Tallet is as "child friendly" as possible with stair gates and baby furniture. Sorry no pets and no smoking!

* Choice of ordering a full breakfast in the farmhouse

Surrounding Area

* Close to Castle Cary where there are quality butchers, two delicatessens, a wonderful shop selling homemade dishes and treats to take away, many independent shops, Chinese take away, fish and chip shop, Thai restaurant etc.
* Close to Glastonbury, Bath, Wells, Stonehenge, Cheddar

Rates (quoted in Pound Sterling)

from £225 to £660 per week (self catering)
* Short breaks available in low season at
20% off weekly rate per night plus a cleaning
and laundry charge of £25.
* Minimum £145 for a two night stay.
