Hopetown Vacation Cottage - Abacos - Bahamas

Accommodations: Two bedroom plus convertible beds/two bath vacation home (sleeps 2 - 4)

Ocean Breeze Cottage with its own private white sand beach, is located on the north end of a 2 mile long island called Lubbers Quarters, east of the much larger Abaco Island. Hope Town is the closest town in the area, and is hard to miss by boat since it's world famous lighthouse, still operated with kerosene and prisms, is visible from miles around. The lighthouse itself, and it's museum are open to visitors.

Your own Boston Whaler boat is included for you to go exploring the many beaches and coves minutes away from your dock. Or, if you prefer, go snorkeling on a four mile long live coral reef also minutes away. Should you wish to go fishing, all the snappers you can eat await you at Tillo cut, just a quick boat ride from your beach. Of course you would want to use the boat to go for lunch at many of the quaint and informal restaurants close by.

The home has a large master bedroom and second bedroom each with queen-size beds. Each room is equipped with fans and has its own private ensuite bathroom with shower. Note also that the sleeper sofa in the living room also sleeps 2.
The large, wood paneled living room has two skylights in it's vaulted ceiling. The kitchen and living room are in the same large room, with a wonderful view of the Sea of Abaco. Our spacious, modern kitchen enjoys day long ocean breezes and a stunning ocean view.

We have a restaurant right on Lubbers Quarters called "Cracker P's". We can vouch for its quality since our 15 year old daughter works there every Sunday! It's a two minute ride by boat from the cottage.

Boston Whaler with 25-HP Yamaha, Sunfish sailboat, picnic table and BBQ on East Beach, located 40ft. from house. Full access to 2 privately owned beaches.

Surrounding Area

Located minutes from historical Hope Town on Elbow Cay for boutiques, telephone station, post office, clinic, small drug store, liquor store, grocery stores, bakery. The East Beach is 40 ft. from the house. West Beach is located on the west side of Lubbers Quarters Cay and is so quiet you can spend an entire day there and not see a single other person. Tahiti Beach is a very popular public beach only 2 minutes away.
The Abacos are a hidden gem in the Caribbean, only an hour flight from West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, or Miami. US Airways, Continental Airways, and American Airlines are among several serving Marsh Harbour from the above USA gateways.
