About Kimberley

Kimberley, known as the Bavarian city of the Rockies, is nestled between the Canadian Rocky Mountains and the Purcell Mountains in the south east corner of British Columbia. Kimberley is the highest city in Canada and offers outstanding views overlooking the beautiful Kootenay River Valley and the Rocky Mountains. Once a mining town, Kimberley has now made the transition to a tourist town and has lots to offer all year round.
In the winter enjoy skiing on the 75 run hill located five minutes away just above the city.

In the summer and spring Kimberley is a city of festivals including the Kimberley International Oldtime Accordian Championships. The city's population more than doubles during this week of dancing, jamming and singing. Another festival held in July each year includes a soccer tournament, tennis, baseball, road races and one of the biggest bocce tournaments in the region. Two new festivals on the horizon are the Jazz and Ragtime Festival and Arts on the Edge.
